High Tech Computer to Build Manufacturing Facility in Shanghai

According to Sina News, Taiwanese Smartphone maker High Tech Computer plans to buy land rights in the Shanghai Kangqiao Industrial Zone for approximately 71.6 million RMB (US$9.4 million; US$1 = 7.6 RMB), in order to build the company's third manufacturing facility. This new plant is slated to begin operations in 2008. The majority of High Tech Computer's manufacturing capacity will still be based in its Taoyuan plant in Taiwan, and the Shanghai plant will be used for future expansion.
